About Ashin Saccanyana

Ashin Saccanyana was born on 7rd of July in 1979, to U Chit tin and Daw Mi Mi Lay, in War Yone Lell village, Yedashe Township, Bago Division, Myanmar.   He studied at government’s Primary school up to fifth Grate.
At the age of twelve, he was ordained as a samanera (novice) and he later received his higher ordination as a Buddhist monk at the age of twenty in Yedashe, at Hman Pya Taung forest meditation center. 

He received his monastic education at Oo Yin Monastery, Tipitaka Mahagandhayon Monastery (Yangon), Sitagu International Buddhist Academy, (Sagaing-Myanmar), Pune University and Somaiya College, in India.
At the age of 21, He passed the Dhammacariya (Master of Dhamma) examinations given by the Burmese government. He was awarded the honorary title of Sasanadhaja Dhammacariya, Degree of Vinayavidu, of Vinayadika Dhmmacariya, of Nikayujjotakasamiti Ubatovibhangadhara, and completed M.A. Degree from Pune University in India and received the Doctor of Philosophy from Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, in Mumbai, in India.
